The native of Cuba admitted in a recent interview with MLB.com that he hopes to change some of his bothersome habits in an effort to land a deal with an MLB franchise.
"The main thing for me and my agent right now is to be healthy and improve the things that bothered some people when I played. … You’ve got to pay attention to the coaches," Puig said. "If they tell me to move to a certain area and the ball ends up being hit somewhere else, that’s a problem with their statistics. They’re the ones in charge."
Puig last played for the Cincinnati Reds and Cleveland Indians in 2019, hitting .267 with 24 home runs and 84 RBIs. Before that, he spent six seasons with the Dodgers, hitting .279 with 108 home runs and 331 RBIs.
