Hall of Fame wide receiver Terrell Owens began his career as a member of the San Francisco 49ers. His son, Terique Owens, is going to get the same opportunity.

Owens began his college career at Florida Atlantic before transferring to Missouri State. During the 2023 season he caught 28 passes for 528 yards.
Even though the 49ers already have Brandon Aiyuk and Deebo Samuel on their roster, they still spent significant draft resources this year on the position. After selecting Ricky Pearsall out of Florida with the No. 31 overall pick in the first round, they also used a fourth-round pick to select Arizona's Jacob Cowing.
Aiyuk and Samuel have been the subject of trade rumors this offseason, and given their future contract situations, the 49ers are clearly planning for the future at the position.
Owens will be a long shot to make the team given the depth chart ahead of him.
Terrell Owens was drafted by the 49ers in the third round of the 1996 draft and spent the first eight years of his Hall of Fame career with the team before being traded prior to the 2004 season.
